The top produces of Merlot on Long Island were selected from all wines reviewed for the article. To be eligible for review the wine must be from either the North Fork of Long Island, Hamptons Long Island, or Long Island AVA. The wines must be available for purchase online, must be available at one of the major retailers of New York State wine, or must participate regularly in tastings in New York City. The top producers were from the top ten rated wines, including ties, reviewed for this article.
