Pale golden in the glass. Vanilla, tart apples, and a hint of mint on the nose within a rich, striking earthy bouquet. Creamy texture of apples and pears balanced with butter and minerals on the closely held palette. Oaky butterscotch gives way to a touch of lime and green apples while still holding the creamy texture. Long mouth filling finish shows rich but understated tropical fruit a hint of pepper and an undercurrent of smoke. This is a rich, focused, Burgundy style but very North Fork Chardonnay, big without being overwhelming. Very solid, very accomplished, lovely wine that works in a tight framework. Should age nicely enhancing its expression of earth and cream with time.
