Light golden color in the glass. Apples, pears, vanilla, lilac and a touch of smoke open a subtle and restrained nose. Ripe Asian pear, papaya, and apples with an under tone of candied lemons and ginger. Shows an interesting texture, smooth classic Burgundy texture with a touch of but a touch raspy. Develops restrained butter, pastry with a subtle pepper note on a long rich finish. This is not an overwhelmingly heavy chardonnay but it has a lot of complexity, nonetheless. Nice balances of fruit and winemaking makes for an interesting glass of wine. Refreshing and solid. Pair with Tuscan cuisines, poultry, or heavier fish dishes.
