Pale golden in the glass with light green highlights. Aromas of fresh bread, vanilla, lemon tart, kitchen match, and caramel show in this very rich and aromatic bouquet. Lemon, green apples, open with distinct floral notes. Caramel developing but restrained under ripe pears and compote. Shows distinct minerals and earth. Smooth mouth-feel, round and full on the pallet. Beautiful expression of both the vineyard and cellar, the fruit is marked and lovely. Finish explodes with banana bat, undercurrent of pepper and cinnamon. Toast and light smoke punctuate a long and lingering finish. Exceptional wine, show balance, complexity, and developing maturity of the vintner. Blending of the other grapes is skillful and enhances the dominant Chardonnay without diminishing the strong varietal characteristics.
