Medium yellow with a light tan hue on Anthony Road’s 2008 Vignoles. Bouquet of honey, dried apricots, quince, and filberts; fairly aromatic. Peaches, golden apples, and honey on a semi-sweet framework; soft forward. Develops some acids with a touch of ginger and nutmeg but not enough to counter the sweetness of the wine. Medium bodied wine with some softer textures. Can get a touch cloying. This effort is reminiscent of an earlier era of Finger Lakes wines made from hybrid varietals. Finish shows some length continuing the fruit themes and a touch of nettle. Too sweet to be an aperitif. Pair with fresh berries and table grapes.
